How I make $300/hr from the Studio when I'm not there!

It's easy to say you own a business, but does your Business really own you? Let's be honest.. any fool can obtain an ABN, get their Certification, buy some equipment and start training people in the park.

It's only the 1% that really make it. And when I say 'make it' I mean every year, year after year you're turning a PROFIT from your business after you take a wage and balance your lifestyle to give you the freedom you want to do the things you love!

If you haven't achieved this yet, it's OK - that's why you're here and learning HOW to do it :)

Now, like I said, it's easy to own a 'business' but what most people don't realise is they actually own a JOB.

  • A JOB (Just Over Broke) is what you got into business to avoid. Long hours, little pay, little reward and no lifestyle.
  • A business is meant to provide you with opportunity, extra revenue, lifestyle and self satisfaction.

If your business IS NOT providing these things for you, I hate to tell you.. you're in a JOB my friend.

So, now that we've established if you own a job or a business, let's move on so I can show you how my BUSINESS pays me to do the things I love.

Leverage is the key

My mission to become a BUSINESS OWNER was brought about by wanting to be able to lead a team, and be part of something bigger than just myself. I wanted to build a facility that provided a service to the community on a mass scale. To do this I needed help in the form of staff. This was always my goal. To build a team to help me do the things I wanted in business, while providing me with a lifestyle to still enjoy the things I held dear, like my family and friends.

I knew to grow and scale my business I had to be a leader. Leadership in my opinion is a skill within that has to be practised everyday.

Early on, I found it difficult to lead and inspire through words, so I did it through action. I led from the front. I trained clients, I handed out pamphlets, I washed the Studio floor, I did all the sales.. I led by example.

This inspired the RIGHT trainers to come and work for me and then do the same. To have the 'boss' working beside them, encouraging them, and understanding what their challenges were, instead of barking orders and then sitting in a cushy office was the key.

The challenge for me was keeping this routine up day after day and still growing the business to its potential.

So, little by little I pulled back, and gave my responsibilities to the senior staff (who had been with me for over 5 years and knew how everything worked)

They then relished in the opportunity to be in charge and coach the younger trainers as I once did, doing it almost exactly how I did it too - with their own special individual touches.

As a result I had more opportunity to then push the business forward and grow and scale it to new heights.

Most importantly, it allowed me to leverage my time to spend with my family. I took longer holidays, attended important events, was able to give myself opportunities I previously missed out on, and lastly I gave myself the lifestyle I desired when I started my business in the first place.

As we stand here today in 2018, 14 years after opening the doors to the Studio, I have 10 staff, 3 of which are Senior Staff (over 10 years with me) they do 200-250 PT sessions a week and get paid 40% of every session... I don't do any PT anymore.

I don't do any sales, or admin, just accounting and business development.

The Studio turns over $60,000 per month and I personally make on average $138/hr between the hours of 6am-6pm 6 days a week from the Studio regardless of where I am and what I'm doing.

On a busy morning, the team do 50 sessions before MIDDAY, making my revenue $300/hour.

I don't tell you this to brag, but rather to INSPIRE you to what is achievable by owning your own Studio, and RUNNING IT SMARTLY :)
